Gutter Installation
Improperly sized gutters cause fascia board rot and foundation erosion. We calculate gutter capacity using the rainfall intensity formula: roof square footage x pitch factor x rainfall rate (inches/hr for Rochester). Standard 5" K-style handles 5,520 sq ft of effective roof area. Bigger roofs or steeper pitches need 6" gutters with 3x4" downspouts. We hang with hidden hangers screwed into rafter tails every 24".
Roof Inspection
Annual roof inspections catch small problems before they become expensive ones. A cracked pipe boot is a $150 fix. Ignoring it means $3,000 in ceiling and wall water damage. We recommend an inspection every 2-3 years for roofs under 10 years old, and annually after that.
Emergency Roof Repair
Emergency tarping is the first priority. We cover the exposed area to stop water entry, then schedule the permanent repair once conditions allow. We don't charge extra for emergency tarp jobs. It's part of the repair cost.
Skylight Installation
Skylights bring natural light into rooms that don't have it. Bathrooms, hallways, closets. We install VELUX and Fakro fixed and vented skylights with proper flashing kits designed for asphalt shingle roofs.
